Georgia Knox Elliott.
Currently 19 months old. And because I know you care (deeply) her current favorite foods are beans, oatmeal, and homemade larabars. Her current favorite shows are Kipper and Sesame Street (Elmo, in particular). She enjoys long walks in the sunshine, hiding rocks of all sizes in her pockets, and petting the neighborhood dogs (especially Digger). She also loves kefir smoothies.
“She's sure got a hair-do, doesn't she?”
Yes, stranger at the store, she does. But I'm not the kind of Mother who tames it (completely). I love the life and bounce and festiveness of it. It's lively and wonderful and I want it to always be that way! What fun would life be if we all tamed our curls?
I love how the good Lord uses parenthood to not only humble us, but also teach us about patience, forgiveness, discipline, and encouragement in a way we would never know otherwise. We correct because we love. We comfort when needed, but we also offer a “toughen up” when needed. We know what is best for our child, even when they think we are cruel. We love them in a way they will never truly understand – a love that knows no bounds or circumstance.
It's a wonderful example of how our Father loves us, isn't it?

I disagree with only one point you made…”We love them in a way they will never truly understand.” I experienced that overwhelming love for our four, and when they were small, I thought the same thing. But now, I have watched them raising their own children, and I see the same kind of love; in fact, I’ve been told they now do understand. It is so fulfilling.
Your daughter is adorable. Those eyes! When our second baby was born, we were living on Okinawa, while my husband was serving in the Army. He had big brown eyes and blonde curls, and the Okinawans couldn’t resist coming up and touching his curls.
I enjoy watching your sweet Georgia as she grows, and I believe you are a wonderful mother. Thank you for sharing her with us.

Funny! My kid’s favorite foods are the same!!! I make the Lara bars on this blog, and he gobbles them up! He also likes olives, too. 🙂
Parenting is so humbling, you have got it right. But so worth it. A baby patting your shoulder, and boo boo made right. A smile, a laugh. What we strive for!
