If we had chores at 6 (laundry) and therefore hate them now, then our kids having chores at 6 will make them hate them as adults too maybe? So sad!! My husband was forced to do yard work as a kid, not strong enough for it, while his dad sat & watched. Sad!! Self sufficiency has a price. My mom did literally EVERYthing for me growing up… I had zero chores. And now I seriously LOVE every single homemaking job, no joke. I think that period of time as a child, getting to be free of labor, being served by a mother with such a big servants heart, made me ready for this job of homemaker in a different way. I saw her servant hood. I saw her joy. I am so thankful for her & how it built up in me a love of homemaking.
