Jack & milk.

I love this valley we live in, I really really do.

It's home to my favorite people in the world.

It is also home to my least favorite goat in the world.

Hello, Jack.  I'm sorry - I don't have any rosehips for you to tear out of my hand.  I'm also sorry that I shan't be going to the other side of the fence, where you could potentially have your fun tackling me to the ground.

Shaye + Jack = No love.  None at all.

My Mom thinks he's cute.  "Come here Jack-Jack!" she'll say all chipper.  He'll tottle over like the 300 pound goat that he is, his giant belly moving side to side as his little legs attempt to support his quick movements.  She'll feed him treats from her hand and he happily eats them - because that's all he does....EAT.  But I'm onto that goat.  I know the evil inside of him is just waiting for an opportune moment to attack.

Dramatic?  I think not.

Jack shares his pen with three other rascals - Oly, Duke, and Kota.  Who now are worm free and immune, thanks to their fall visit from the vet.

Scratch that, actually.  Oly is not worm free - because as soon as the vet took out the dewormer, he had a fit and began prancing around the pen like a little toddler throwing a tantrum.  Homeboy don't like this mouth messed with.

Aren't animals funny 'ol things?  Some of them throw tantrums and some of them attack you with their cloven goat hooves.  It's a dangerous world, ya know - life on the farm.

Kitty's smart. He's stayin' on the safe side of the fence.  He knows what's up....besides his leg, that is.

But back to this goat business.  I can't wait to get milk goats.  Yeah, yeah, I know....they gotta be milked twice a day...but wouldn't it be wonderful to have your own source of milk!  Think of the wonderful cheese one could make!  I told Stuart today that I would only relocate for a teaching position if we could move into a place that allowed dairy goats.

He sarcastically noted that he's glad to know I'm unconditionally committed to this marriage.

But I kindly reminded him that one must not stand in the way of a women on a mission.  And this women's on a homegrown milk mission.

So watch out now.
