Making Babies Giveaway!

Today, I promise not to badger you about lacto-fermentation or anything bacteria related.

Isn't that a relief?

Instead, let's just have some FUN...shall we?

It is, after all, baby time.

And I love baby time.  Especially making baby time!

Sorry.  TMI.

A few months back, I was blessed enough to receive this gem of a 'life' book:

Making Babies.

Now you see where my 'making baby time' joke came in?

Never mind.

Making Babies is a fabulous resource that is sold through one of our affiliates on the homestead, Bulk Herb Store.

And wouldn't ya know...they decided to sponsor a giveaway for us!  That means that YOU, my dear reader, have the opportunity to win this wonderful book that showcases all sorts of nutritional goodness.

While the book is written with the intention of the audience being pregnant, it's far from limited to pregnant women.  This book is crammed full of fantastic recipes, herbal tinctures, advice on essential oils, homemade creams and salves, detoxing advice and recipes, fertility information, household cleaner recipes, relaxation techniques, stretches, and everything in between.  Here's what their website says about the series:

Making Babies Book is a fun, informational, artistic, and colorful pregnancy book. Follow Shoshanna through her pregnancy and the birth of her daughter as she stays healthy and builds a baby. The Book covers information that is in the DVDs volumes 1, 2, and 3, includes many deliciously healthy recipes, wonderful gluten-free recipes, grandma’s remedies, herbal concoctions, and need-to-know facts, and is packed with research about fertility, conception, morning sickness, pregnancy, birth, nursing, postpartum issues, losing weight, and more!

I've already made countless recipes from it since it's been in my kitchen. Though I've had to modify a few of them to incorporate the all-important-task of grain soaking (as well as sub in rapadura or honey for brown sugar), for the most part, the 'cooking' part of this book is right on the nutritional-money.  Shoshanna is all about healthy fats and real nourishment.  Heck ya, I can jump on that bandwagon!

One of my favorite parts about this book is the ease of the recipes.  You can tell Shoshanna wrote it with a Mother's schedule in mind.  The recipes are simple, quick, and straight-forward.  I think we can all appreciate that.

And there's more.

The book Making Babies also includes a three-DVD set that follows Shoshanna through her second pregnancy.  She demonstrates how to make some of the recipes, as well as demonstrates some of the stretches and relaxation techniques she presents in the book.  In the last DVD (birth through 6 months), there is a video of Shoshanna's birth.

I watched it (don't worry, it's very PG rated).

I cried.

It scared me.

And excited me.

And made me wonder if I have what it takes.

So then I contemplated that and cried some more.

Birth is such a beautiful thing.

I can't believe we will be facing it so soon.

Yes, I'm scared.

But I'm also excited.

But I'm also hormonal.

The end.
