I've been tucked away in my closet hiding from my children, I mean working hard, for the last year and a half to bring this cookbook to life. I've lived it. I've cooked it. I've eaten it. When I released From Scratch two and a half years ago, we had just moved to our homestead. The land lay before us as a palette of opportunity and we've been slaving away in the soil and fields for the past few years to bring it to productive life for one simple reason: the food. The gardens were planted. The animals were bred. The food came to life - quite literally.
