Cleaning and Organizing the Kitchen Pantry

My Kitchen Pantry | The Elliott Homestead (.com)

I'm genuinely trying to be the type of adult who doesn't wait for things to completely explode before dealing with them. My kitchen pantry has been giving me gentle nudges letting me know it was time to address some of the empty spice jars, misplaced items, and empty snack bags. Hello Shaye! Can you see the spilt hazelnuts? The bread crumbs? The overstuffed jars? Are you even listening?! Five years ago, I would have been too busy nursing babies and changing diapers to deal with it - that is, until the jar of sorghum with the unscrewed lid tipped over and drowned all the spice jars and bread bags. But I'm different today. Seven years in, we're more settled our hours than we've ever been anywhere. There's less major moving and renovations and more attention to details. The children are less needy in physical ways, allowing my body to be more freed up for cleaning and cooking. So come join me today in the kitchen where I'm cleaning and organizing the kitchen pantry!Lastly: you'll notice that my kitchen pantry is primarily full of cooking supplies and spices. Because our root cellar below the kitchen houses the bulk of our food, the kitchen pantry is reserved for smaller portions of foodstuff we use often, oils, vinegars, and spices.
