A Taste of La Bella Vita
Twenty years ago, we walked the streets of Italy for the first time.
Since then, we’ve found ourselves here time and time again. We are continually inspired by the colors, textures, and timeless beauty of this wonderful country. It is a country of artisans, creatives, and hard workers. Perhaps this is why it feels such a perfect fit for us, as homesteaders and curators of the home.
Italians are proud of what they produce and the history that has woven together to create such timeless products. When we dreamed up our home store, Limone, we knew we had to partner with these amazing Italian artisans, many who have worked for generations on their craft.
So, while we’re here meeting new suppliers and getting inspired firsthand, we wanted to share with you some our Limone products made right here in Italia… to bring a taste of la belle vita to your kitchen as well!
Our Mirto Apron is made by weavers in Tuscany. It's been owned by the same family for eight generations, where the dye is painstakingly applied to the thread (versus the bolt of fabric) for a longer, more intense saturation and wear. This is the apron that traveled with me over 2,000 miles to be here with me for my time in Italy - it’s that important and wonderful.
We were also able to meet up with a third-generation ceramicist in Umbria this week, who reinforced our love for these incredibly wonderful and unique pieces. Their designs and colors trace back hundreds and hundreds of years (we use them every day in our kitchen back home!)
From our utilitarian extra-long pasta rolling pin to our beautiful Italian linens, we’re celebrating la bella vita in the store all month!
Can’t wait to share all the new things I’m finding very soon.
Arrivederci!
