I'm a contributor!

Can you believe it?  Someone else, besides myself, wants to read what I write! At least I hope that's the case...

Well, I'm Naturally Simple reader, I'd like you to know a little bit about me & my clan so that when I write my posts, you at least have an idea of who the heck I am!  But let's just be honest here - I have zero credibility.  I'm simply a wife and mama that gets far too much pleasure out of cooking and canning.

I honestly can't even remember how our journey began.  I remember checking out the cookbook "The Balanced Plate" at my local library and from there, my appreciation for natural & un-fussy foods began (raw milk, anyone?).  This is where my love for gardening began to blossom, as well as my love for local, fresh, real food.  From foods, it spread to natural cleaners & grooming products.  And from a natural home, began to spread into everyday life.  It sparked in my mind the idea of growing & doing more things ourselves (although I maintain an utter, and complete dependence on God for all things!); which of course, sparked the idea of a homestead.  Although we are not near where we would like to be, we have most definitely changed the way we eat, buy, and cook our food (opting for local meat and dairy products & locally grown and gleaned produce).  I'm on a mission to prove that real food can not only be affordable, but is also delicious!

We have also begun to explore the exhausting, yet rewarding, idea of food storage.  As we preserve the bounty of the summer, we have learned to become more dependent on God, weather, & sunshine! Plus, let's be honest, it's great bonding time with the hubby as you peel peaches together.

So my naturally simple life involves lots, and lots, and lots, of good, wholesome food.  It involves raw milk and homemade dairy products.  It involves buying grass-fed beef from a local ranch and giving the rancher's wife a hug as I leave with a car full of meat.  It involves fermenting foods and canning cherries.  It involves a fresh and (sometimes) clean home, full of fellowship & friends.  It involves conversations over a glass of peach wine and back-breaking days in the garden.  It involves devotion time spent with my husband in prayer, as we seek grace for handling the unknowns.  It involves kombucha.  And crafts.  And babies.

Hopefully more, and more of them babies!

It's a sickness, I tell you.  A baby sickness.

Everyone needs encouragement as they go about their duties in life.  I know I do!  Through my posts, I hope to explore the joy that is to be found in these duties!

Even if it's just folding socks.

Let's joyfully fold socks together, my friends!
