What to do when your sourdough bread is terrible!

October 5, 2021 - 6 Comments

I thought we could sit down together today and talk about what to do when your sourdough bread is terrible. Yes, I've been there. Yes, there's hope! I asked our YouTube viewers what questions they had for me about making their sourdough bread better and they had lots! We cover sourdough starter, levain, and the actual baking of the bread in this long, conversation-style video.

I hope this answers some of your questions and ultimately leads you to love sourdough even more.

I’ve made your dry starter and sourdough bread and it’s good, but no a lot of flavor.. Do you ever add some salt or herbs to your bread?

Sourdough starters that are over a year old are against the Word of God. In Exodus 12:15a, we read “Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses:” and again in Exodus 12:19a, “Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses:”. So, God tells us to get rid of our starters every year, in the spring…this is for our good. If you follow what God tells us to do, found in the Holy Bible, our lives will be happier (Proverbs 29:18) and healthier (Exodus 23:25)!
