It wasn't an easy lambing season. Even on our small farm with just a handful of ewes, you have to face the issues that come – they're inevitable with livestock.
We had some major highs and lows of lambing over these 48 hours.
(Yes, all the ewes went within 48 hours of each other!)
Join the whirlwind of being a small farmer with me as we nurse, care for, and celebrate the highs and lows of lambing on our small farm.

HI Shaye! I too raise Katahdin sheep – and yes, I have had lambs inside the house, usually in a playpen – getting up in the middle of the night to feed them! So far, it’s all been worth it. I think it’s good for your kids to see WHERE their food comes from – how much love the animals get before they sacrifice their lives to keep our lives going! It is truly a blessing. My ewes aren’t ready to lamb for a few more weeks -and it will be crazy times around the farm for about 2 weeks!! LOL! God Bless!

Totally unrelated to sheep (although we also raise Katahdins): do you mind if I ask where you found your red parka? I’m drooling over it! 😂
