Want to know how to milk a cow? Here's a quick video of how we milk our family dairy cow including: how we clean her, the milking stanchion we use, and how we filter the milk. We've had experience milking our previous cows, but this is only a few day's into Cecelia's first milking cycle – she's doing awesome so far!

Oh my goodness – the calf is adorable!! I want fresh milk, but don’t really have time for a cow. Sure wish I lived closer to you Shaye! God Bless!

Thanks for sharing this, Shaye. Your new calf is so adorably sweet. Our Holstein is due in a few weeks… our first… and I’m getting a little nervous, but so excited.

I’d really like a cow in the future but am a little hesitant because of the time commitment. Does your family have a plan for when you want to go out of town for a vacation, or even just a weekend trip? Thanks for the video-it’s nice to see how it is done!

Hi Shaye. Forgive me if I’ve missed the answer to this in a previous post….
I know you guys raise sheep and cows- what made you decide to go with cows vs goats?
Currently trying to decide which would be best for our homestead, and I’m pretty sure you’ve researched this. Thanks 🙂

Love this you guys!!
